Earthquake

The only few times I didn't wanna stay quiet
Were the only few times that I started a riot
Momma prayed I wouldn't be like her
So I went and became a nightmare
To the people who told her to smile while they
Were chasing her down

She used to be sitting in the school bathroom holding her tears back, trying not to break
Now that it's all over, she is proud as she is watching her daughter causing earthquakes

Telling myself white lies, I believe they are true
I still don't know if I could have survived what she went through
It took a while for me to see the pain she was in

She can breathe now that she knows her child isn't like her
