Animosity

I keep a creature inside
It comes alive when I speak
So I keep the tip of my tongue
Against the back of my teeth
I'd like to say that I know
I've got it under control
But it just keeps pushing and pulling
And pressuring me

And clawing at the walls of my insides
This animosity
I try to hide
That I'm afraid for you to see
The thought just haunts me in my sleep
And I can feel it taking over me

I live the life of a wolf
The masquerade is a sheep
But I sewed my heart to my sleeve
To make me easy to read
