Keeping Us Apart

In the silence of my room, I wonder what's become
Of the world we used to know, where we laughed and had fun
But now we're kept apart, by this unseen enemy
A pandemic, a cloud that hangs over you and me

Days turn into weeks, the loneliness starts to creep
Missing family and friends, their laughter and their keep
But doubts begin to rise, questioning what's real
Is this pandemic true, or just a fabricated ordeal?

Oh, the temptation to rebel, to break the rules that bind
But we must remember, our actions affect mankind
We'll trust the experts, and hold onto hope
Protecting one another, as we learn to cope

The news keeps on spinning, the conspiracy theories fly
Confusion fills the air, as truth becomes a lie
