Echoes Beneath the Stone

Beneath the canopy of withered trees
Where silence clings to hollow skies
I walk the path of memories
With every breath, a thousand cries

The night has stitched my eyes with shade
No dawn can pierce this endless gray
A name long whispered, now decayed
Still dances where the shadows play

You fade like light in dying flame
A ghost beneath the chapel dome
I scream, but sorrow knows your name
It echoes deep beneath the stone

The bells have cracked, their chimes are still
Yet in my bones, the echoes ring
The blood runs cold against my will
Each heartbeat cursed, a hollow thing

I held your hand in mortal sleep
But time betrayed what we had known
Now even death forgets to keep
The vows we carved into our bones

You fade like stars at break of pain
A shadow carved in ash and bone
I reach, but never touch again
Just echoes deep beneath the stone

Where no one weeps, and none return
