i called to say i made something for you with my bare hands
i put it into the mail today

give it a week or two
i've heard it takes time to cross the sea
though note, it took me a decade to write

i called to say this is the last time we'll speak
i made a pact, in fact, i'm doing the crosswords tonight
unroll your eyes

i've always felt you cared much more than you should
it's just a soul, the hole is easily covered with dirt
