The Mighty

Ripped from the root:
I am with you.

I feel her alive and venus behaved
Magic the guide to expect as she makes her entrance -
Did you not bask beneath my gaze?
Oh the wind can cause the rails to creak like a ship in Arctic duress.

A slavedancer, beaded and perfumed
Metal-cold bracelets upon each battered wrist -
The question of my deity rewarded
With every wave of her hand to the audience.

In 200 AD, I am yet just and fair in the language of trees
A soldier in respite while they plotted my death.
Then a simple Bard shackled yet still able to sing
I know the gut-wrenched pain of mental bloodshed.

My fingernails chipped and filled with dirt from the farm,
The lights red to gold to blue upon me.
Smoke brushes along the contours of my form,
Blinded to the faces in the balcony.

Flashing one scene then the next -
The lifetimes of one life.

Walking delicately through the mines,
Trimmed, and perfect and haven’t eaten in three days,
I know what it is to lose my heart.
Look to the side, see the conspirators behind the curtain,
Down the alleyways,
Tumbling through forests,
Wandering between all realms
I fought well and bitter and to the death,
Like a Trojan soldier on a vase,
My Mythology smashed and littered under their feet
I fall like leaves from separate similar struggles.

Now reaching up to that lovely, lovely place
Where all answers fly awaiting capture
To their point of meaning.
I am the Muse.
Blinding as I radiate.
I can only shine on that which reflects back upon me...
And one young man comes with gifts.
And another thinks I have picked him from the crowd.

The taste of me alone profound,
Resurrected.
Resurrected.

Believe in Me.
And I'll take you with me
