The Nine Ladies

Mid-summer's eve
The minstrel is playing
Nine ladies sing
The heavens are praying

Sunday is night
When fun is forbidden
Minstrel plays on
The omens lie hidden

So the ladies danced into the dawn
(Should have known)
On that sacred Sabbath day
Now they stand forever... So forlorn
(Turned to stone)
Their eternal price to pay

Turning to see, the rays of the Sun
Frozen in time
Their fate has begun
No more those ladies danced beyond the dawn
(Cast a spell)
Silence reigned for Sun and Moon
But if you're passing by... Mid-summer's morn
(Listen well)
