Open Your Mind

Looking into my thoughts
these take me back to my childhood
when I couldn't tell
wisdom from ignorance.
I was 12 and inside me
I heard voices saying you should do
good both for your own and
for those you don't know.

But I looked at the world
saw awful things and all
the power of God wasn't
present back then. And now
I'm an adult, now there's no
censorship, I don't care what
the Bible or the priests say.

I used to walk in darkness but
I've seen the light, I only
believe in myself, I don't
believe in any cross. Since the
homo sapiens, there was fear of
death and it was believed that the
sun brought good or bad
luck. Now it's the same
but the sun is called God
and though this sounds sad,
dying is goodbye.

At night I look
at the sky, I feel
that it has no owner,
the universe is so
vast that even God
seems small. Mysteries
of science, death and
survival, I'm searching for
the essence, the basis of the
existence. I don't want to con
vince you, I respect your beliefs
but my mind is now
free from ties and
influences and for
me, the Bible tells a
great story, a story
so beautiful but also
fantastical.

If there's a savior, let him
come and save this planet
that's rotting, that's sinking,
everyone is confused.
We need actions, not abstract
gods, we need peace.

you are and where you are without
seeing each other. The first will be
last, the last first,
it's unfair to wait to reach the

Before with a cape and turban,
now it's urban life and
tomorrow who knows, maybe with
spaceships. Over time, religions
have only done nothing but pursue,
divide instead of unite, instead of
letting live. Holy war, fanaticism,
hypocrisy, you don't give a damn
if your neighbor dies
of hunger and then you praise the messiah.
Hallelujah, they shout hallelujah, they shout in
that church when you walk out the
door, you feel like you suffer from amnesia.
Many religious folks are full of goodness,
they live giving charity, they truly love
each other. But the vast majority is lying,
don't you see it? Drops of hate on my
face are raining, spirits, souls,
sins are invented concepts to
bind society, they're created, tied
with chains, repression in their veins.
Eternal
condemnations that limit the mind, stop
praying and start acting if you want
to improve this fucking place.

I'm not in possession of the
truth, it's what I think,
open your mind and cross the universe.
And you'll see that this planet is just
a speck of dust compared to the
infinity of the cosmos. I ask the questions,
answers are shuffled and in the puzzle of
life, there are still no pieces that fit.
I investigate, I pursue having clear ideas,
I know it's very easy to drown when the tide
rises, so study and learn. In these
dark days, peace to those who break down walls!
