Mourning Purple

I came into this world against my will
Beyond the gate was no one waiting for me
Throughout my life I walked through silent hills
But all the rest was nothingness before me

I walked through gardens and forsaken vales
All on the path I've once and ever chosen
I've seen it all and all of what remains
Still nothing could appear being worth it

I'm waiting for the night to fall
To step outside and close the door
To watch the stars on bottom
Of a deep dark sea
The night will take my pain away
Till sunlight yields another day
This mourning purple shall my eyes
Forever see

Could rest be hidden in a field of corn?
Could peace be seen behind the rolling thunder?
I'll never know where all my dreams are gone
And till the last of mine I'll ever wonder

I'm waiting for the night to fall...

Purple skies
Burden skies
What else should I sacrifice?
Heaven's glow
Heavy glow
Silently beckons as long ago
