Make It To The Warm

There I was sticking my neck into the neck of a woods
thats never been good to me
lord what on this earth did I expect to see
there could have been rain, could have been a bear
could have been a mess of things that just weren't there
but all and all that my eyes could see
is orange leaves a fallin' down
but hey we could make it to the warm

and give back what belongs to yesterday
summer in the woods never stays on like you offer it to
when the hasty fall leaves it's like a postcard can make it out to be
we get a mess of snow, forget about the warm
run and get your winter's best we're facing up a storm
and all that my eyes can see is
