The Noble Beast

Ages ago we were born to this earth
With the power of thought and voice

A step back from gods and a step forth from beasts
With the burden of a choice
Our empires rose and fell through the years
War and death within their wake
Shaping the world as we would see fit
As the master of our fate

At the end of days
Only one question remains
Will the angel of the devil pull the strings?

And the Noble Beast of man
Holds his future in his hands
Will he fly amongst the angels
Or fall into the dark
Time and time alone will tell
If we'll be ruled by heaven or hell
We'll just have to wait and see

Compassion and hatred, anger and love
The duality of man
Between these extremes we're forced to decide
And we do the best we can
Don't search for answers from the divine
For there is no master plan
Our purpose is simply to choose what to do
With the time we have at hand
