Hourglass

Behold, the wellspring is dry
I recognize the symptoms, but never the signs
If I fight to maintain awareness
And root myself to the earth below
I hope that I can find a sense of purpose
Before the final grain falls

Down through the center to the mountain below
The hourglass reminds me that I'm never alone
