She can't tell time it's not listening to her
When faith went blind I could see light
Through her
Her vigils in the street left
My youth incomplete
Left meaning obsolete

Sleep I can't sleep / she can speak
But she can't tell time
Dream I can't dream / she can scream
But she can't tell time

She can't tell time she didn't get
What she deserved
When faith went blind she found the truth
But lost her nerve
When she won't act her age
The cat circles round the cage
Youth shrinks to tired rage
