All That Slithers

Confusion the only way I feel
so lost in disillusion that nothings real
I just can't see so for between the memories of broken dreams
and everything's falling falling once again
I can't keep looking forward if I'm moving in reverse
and I'm staring through this window that's been clouded by this curse
now I won't consider treason but the thought had crossed my mind
and I'm looking for the answers to the questions I can't find.

Holy angel be my sacrifice
Trapped in cages of your own demise
and you falter through this world of shine
Lord what a crime

Suspicion the only civil act
so lost in superstition I can't look back
an entity controlling me to live out dreams of bloody screams
and now I surrender, surrender to his light
a shadow in the mirror watching over all I've done
a ghost of all that slithers to recall the wars I've won
it's another institution of my common simple mind
and I cannot fight this heaven while hell occupies my time.

wicked serpent of a lesser God
wander blindly through this vast mirage
