Could Have Been Raining

I found that ring you gave to me
Didn't know how bad it hurt
And just when I could barely breathe
I guess it always could be worse
I guess it could have been raining
Could have been raining

I packed my car with our history
I just couldn't fit goodbye
And the promises we couldn't keep
Plus a tear for every mile
I guess it could have been raining

Oh it could have been the end of me
Oh lovers into enemies
Could have left me in pieces
Still waiting on a kiss
Not knowing what I needed
Could have been just like this
Oh it could have been raining
It could have been raining

I passed the church that we picked out
That we never got to use
We almost had the love we found
We almost said I do
I guess it could have been raining
Could have been raining

Oh it could have been the end of me
Oh lovers into enemies
Could have left me in pieces
Still waiting on a kiss
Not knowing what I needed
Could have been just like this
It could have been raining
It could have been raining

I found that ring you gave to me
Didn't know how bad it hurt
