Beteten viele Ritter,A host of knights did pray
Dass man das Schwert aus dem Amboss ziehen könnte.That from the anvil one could draw the sword.

Als jeder Ritter an der Reihe war,As each knight took his turn
Fanden sie den Amboss, hielten ihn fest;They found the anvil, held it firm;
Keiner war würdig, ein zukünftiger König und Herr zu sein.None worthy of a future king and lord.

Sir Kay, der tapferste Ritter,Sir Kay the bravest knight
Schien seine Kraft zu versuchen;Appeared to try his might
Er träumte davon, König zu sein, wie alle anderen.He dreamed of being King, as all the rest
Zu Arthur rief Sir Kay, um zu suchenTo Arthur, Sir Kay called to search
Und ihm ein Schwert zu bringen;And bring for him a sword
Eifrig machte sich Arthur auf seine Suche.In earnest, Arthur set about his quest.
