Why do I hold back the raging flood?
Hinder a force so unrelenting
I’ve built a wall out of repressed emotions
The river must flow

I was grasping on until my hands were broken
Walked so far that I can barely stand
I got stuck too deep within distorted notions
But now I know it's time to heal

Break out from the grey
Inhale and dive into the stream
Carry on through the twists and turns
Anywhere that it takes thee
Let it wash you clear from all these clouds of vanity
When the tears flow through the roots they bloom evergreen

The barrier is breaking, it’s overdue
For so long I’ve tried to constrain the current
This depleted state must be renewed
The river must flow

I had craved so much but all was left unspoken
Self-deceit and shame go hand in hand
I was hanging on to keep this door unopened
But now I know it’s time to yield
The river must flow

Constrain, control
