In ominous silence
That dark lake inside
The cold indifference, as I stand before you
With a glint in my eyes
Not hatred or anger
With vicious speed, no trace of fear
Rationale is weak
Just a bad dream

Alone and vulnerable
They express their despair
In violent and cynical
Acts of self-destruction
They despair their suspicion
Of the ancient connection
Without which
They have no hope of peace

It was absolutely necessary
To start over again
Riding with death
To the place of no pity

Heavy, indifferent
Since the first time my eyes had shone
Made feel hard, cold
Silent, efficient
Dethrone self-importance
Thrust of the warriors way
The real enemy
Is self-pity’s masquerade
