But shortly after, as lust enflamed her heart
He appeared before her
Like Sirius rising from the depths of the ocean to ascend the horizon
And is truly a marvel to behold in its rising brilliance
Yet brings woes untold unto the flocks of sheep
Thus Aesonides stood before her, radiant to look upon
He came unto her and awoke within passion’s fatal torments
Her heart fluttered from out her breast, her eyes grew dark
And on her cheeks spread a burning crimson hue
She had not the strength to lift her knees
To either go forth or back to tread
Her feet were rooted in the earth
As all the slave-girls of her train hastened to flee from them
