Psalm 139

Lord, you have searched me and known me
You know when I sit, and when I rise up
Even from where seems so far up
You grasp all my thoughts from the ground up

My ways are like waves to your eyes
You've seen them before, my future, you're past
You study my going, my resting
You're intimately, so acquainted

You know what I'll say when I think of it
Before I can speak, you have caught my drift
You've hemmed me behind and before me
We're woven, your hand is upon me

This knowledge is just too much for me
It's so wonderful, so high I can't reach
Where can I go from your spirit?
Where can I run from your spirit?

Cause surely this is where I meet my end
Surely the darkness will overwhelm
Surely this blanket will close in
Surely there won't be a morning

Surely I can't come back up from this
Surely you're done saving me from sin
Surely you're done with your warnings
Surely you no longer want me

Surely I've wandered too far this time
Surely you won't get this mess to rhyme
Surely this darkness, its bruising
How could you ever come find me?

But somehow this dark is like light to you
