Angel Defiled

Guardians of many faces
Howling at the waning Moon
Crying for the dying daisies

Messenger, a divination
Ravenously flying back
Has a thousand tricks up his sleeve

Guiding you across the river
Takes you to the other side
Once a fable, now a common myth

Teaching one a way of living
Another what they must unlearn
To become a witch they cannot burn

Oh, they cannot climb up all the walls
That you have left behind
Oh, you have to fly across the sky again to not become a prey

You can see the evil in their eyes as they sing
You were made for hungering, you and all the beasts
Fear and all the ignorance will fuel their fire

Linger on the sky above to gather the crowds
The sign to rid their daughters and their sons of all doubt
Keeping them company while gazing at the sky
The witch holding their hand is but an angel defiled

Hide away what you may, in the dark
The gleaming eyes see you anyway

One more night the town may dream in their sleep
Days to come may bring nightmares

Every waning Moon the witch will bring you one lost memory
Dancing with her groom, growing wings to cross the sky
