Near Dark

As long as I remember
I am a prisoner of the night
Darkness  my tormentor
Fear is always by my side

Am I still the owner of myself
Or a victim of delusions
Is this a bad demon
Behind my eyes

Fear  what else is so near
Hear  I`m lost in the dark
Fear  is rushing through my heart
Here  evil is inside - it`s near dark

Keep on gnawing
Voraciously at my heart
Desperately dragging me
Into the dark

Am I still the owner of myself
Am I walking on the edge of death
Is this a disease which
I just can`t cure

Fear  what else is so near
Hear  I`m lost in the dark
Fear  is rushing through my heart
Here  no fire is alight - it`s near dark
