Old Medicines, Same Vices

Where is the future that they promised yesterday?
Where's the stability we were taught about at school?
We struggle everyday through the uncertainties of a failing model we can't ignore anymore

And there are families who can't afford a dinner out
There are couples who can't even afford love
We build our friendships on misleading attractions, and in a fraction
All we know, all we share is lost

We won't be cursed by the war of our fathers
But we won't be blessed by the spirit of reconstruction
Everything we dreamt of is lost in our history
