Labyrinth of Broken Dreams

I see shapes over grey skies
contorted, but making sense to me.
Night falls, what lies beyond
The wall of sleep?

A grief that could destroy an empire
As dark as night without a moon.
An angel of death is smiling
Whilst watching over you.

You left the party early,
A journey of endless night
a labyrinth of broken dreams
but in an unbroken mind

I dream what you dream,
of the spiders so giant and black
that move in a way so loathsome
No turning back.

Down the spiral staircase
Through the darkness or the archway.
Do I see a light at the end?
Or a spectre in my mind about to fade away?

Lost in eternal and dreamless sleep
