When Lights Went Dim

I was in a hurry when the lights went dim
A sound like water banging walls and front door jams
But carried all we love to the upper floor
I left one on empty waiting for your voice

Though i hate to think my lover never made it through

You could smell the silence all around for twenty miles
Locked up in our attic all those christmas lights
We all wondered why no one came at all
