Valentine's Day

I was staring out the backseat window
Driving on the five
It looked like the edge of the world was burning down on my left side
And at a party the night before back in Oceanside

On little construction paper cut out hearts

And we sat around outside

And at one point, I punched a hole through some conversation
I overheard, I crawled right in, as a girl had said
"I've just got so much to

And I realized what she said was an excuse
What she probably wanted to say was so simple, so plain
Cause saying you've got a lot to do or see when you're still young
Means you're not happy where you are or with who you're with

And as I watched the fire burn us to the ground
