Would be a Tragedy
The Treasure Tragedy
We stepped onto the coast by noon
The Sun above, a glowing rune
Barefoot paths on golden shore
No clocks to chase, no need for more
Driftwood stacked, a kite in flight
Cold drinks passed in fading light
We marked the tide, not time of day
And let the breeze just guide our way
Where grains of sand begin to play
Our cares dissolve and slip away
No rush to name what this could be
Just joy, without apology
We smiled until the stars took shape
The sea became our sweet escape
To waste this gift would be a tragedy
When living fully sets us free
Shells that whisper, waves reply
A sunburned laugh, a seagull's cry
Salted lips and tangled hair
No need to ask, we're meant to share
Wrote quick poems with our feet
The tide came in, erased them neat
No need to hold what must let go
The beauty lies in what we know
Where grains of sand begin to play
Our cares dissolve and slip away
No rush to name what this could be
Just joy, without apology
We smiled until the stars took shape
The sea became our sweet escape
To waste this gift would be a tragedy
When living fully sets us free
And when we leave this shoreline sound
We'll keep the peace that we have found
Not bottled up or sold or caught
Just moments that can't be forgot
Where grains of sand begin to play
Our cares dissolve and slip away
No rush to name what this could be
Just joy, without apology
We smiled until the stars took shape
The sea became our sweet escape
To waste this gift would be a tragedy
When living fully sets us free
Yeah, living fully sets us free
