Job's Lament

Cursed be the day I was born
Let it be marked by darkness and scorn
And the night that I was conceived
Let it be known as the night of misery

Now this nightmare has come to pass
Once I was first, now I am last
With no peace or quietness
There is no comfort and there is no rest

Now I want to say to God
Don’t condemn me without cause
Let me know what charge you bring
And why you are opposing me

Now I want to say to God
There’s no reason to go on
End this life of misery
Reach your hand out and kill me
