The king of Jerusalem had heard that they’d taken Ai
Gibeon feared Joshua and made peace with him with a lie
Adonai-Zedek alarmed at this troubling new revelation
He summoned five kings for war to bring their devastation

Sun, stand still over Gibeon
And you, Moon, over the Valley of Aijalon
There has never been a day like it before nor any like it since!

After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua struck them in the back
On the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah they began to flee
The Lord hurled large hail down upon the armies of the kings

The Sun stopped in the sky and delayed going down for a day
Surely the Lord was fighting for us! To Gilgal they all marched away
