The skies are ablaze
I wander alone
A son without a home
Caught between the ticking hands of time

My steps grow heavy
Facing life’s bitter mistakes
On the road of the damned
Tears scatter to the seven winds

My walls have crumbled
They’ve plundered my memories
Past glories left behind
Now buried in this suffering

I'm a fallen hero, broken and lost
No courage left to meet your eyes
Your pain is the prize of a war so senseless
I'm my own enemy
Guilt never lets me rest
My mind is the sharpest threat
Running away, yet danger lies within me

Wandering through this long, sad verse
Of a poem that’s lost its way
Of a line that I’ve paid with pain
Of a wish that mocks itself
