Qué pesada carga Dios ha puesto sobre los hombresWhat a heavy burden God has laid on men
He visto todas las cosas que se hacenI have seen all the things that are done
Bajo el sol, persiguiendo el vientoUnder the sun, a chasing after the wind
Lo torcido no se puede enderezarWhat is twisted cannot be straightened
Lo que falta no se puede contarWhat is lacking cannot be counted
Me esforcé en comprenderI applied myself to the understanding
La sabiduría y también la locura y la necedadOf wisdom and also of madness and folly
Pero aprendí que esto tambiénBut I learned that this too
Es perseguir el vientoIs a chasing of the wind
Lo torcido no se puede enderezarWhat is twisted cannot be straightened
Lo que falta no se puede contarWhat is lacking cannot be counted
Con mucha sabiduría viene mucha tristezaWith much wisdom comes much sorrow
Cuanto más conocimiento, más dolorThe more knowledge the more grief
No me negué nadaI denied myself nothing
Mis ojos deseabanMy eyes desired
No le negué a mi corazón ningún placerI refused my heart no pleasure
Mi corazón se deleitaba en todo mi trabajoMy heart took delight in all my work
Y esta fue la recompensa por mi laborAnd this was the reward for my labor
Sin embargo, cuando examiné todo lo que mis manos habían hechoYet when I surveyed all that my hands had done
Y lo que había trabajado por lograrAnd what I had toiled to achieve
Todo era perseguir el vientoEverything was a chasing of the wind
El destino del necio me alcanzaráThe fate of the fool will overtake me

Porque el sabio, como el necioFor the wise man like the fool
