Lady Moon

Dark were the nights
Absence of light
Not a single star filling the sky
Men were too scared to leave their houses
By the Fire

There was a girl
Whose skin was so bright
She walked through the night
By the riverside
Fearless she said
Night wasn’t scary at all

Creatures of night
Fly me away from here
Where evil can’t make me no harm

Hatred and spite
Grew deep inside
Of another girl
From the same tribe
Whose eyes were so dark
And so was her heart
So envious, dangerous

For evil’s sake
She made a deal
With a poisonous snake
That happily would make
The shiny girl’s light
Fade in the night
So she won’t glow anymore

Creatures of night
Fly me away from here
Where evil can’t make me no harm
Get me to the clouds
Where my tears gonna shine
Light the sky and clear the night

She flew away to rest in piece
(Away from sorrow to be free)
She flew out of evil
Up high with her wings of freedom
Above the clouds she fought her fears
(Shiny stars came from her tears)
Lighting the way for you
Now she burns bright Lady Moon
