The Many Rivers I've Crossed

Over the mossel, over the seine, over the marne
Storming past the maginot line
Over the lippe, over the claine, over the vienne
So much ground we have gained

Through summers' heat and winters' frost
We trudged on and bore the cost
Past the fields of comrades lost
And over the many rivers, i've crossed

Over the rhine, over the spree, over the elbe
We go east into uncertainty
Over the oder, over the bug, over the vistula
Victories fueled by our blood
Over the volga, over the don, over the dnieper
Our columns keep marching on
Over those cold waters
Into those frozen plains
Over destroyed bridges
Where artillery sheels fall like rain
