To See The World Again

Someone said
The sun will fall and rise again
Without an end

All I see
The shimmer laughing back at me
At me

I peer into the lens
To see the world again
To when it shined more vividly
The clarity of memory

I can hear
The voices in my head again
My only friends

They pass me by
They're looking at me from behind
Frozen in time

The people that I knew
Have nothing left to do
With what has now become of me

I cling to them today
As in their minds I fade
They'll never shine as brilliantly
As they do in my memory
As they do in my memory

The future will carry them away
But I make them stay
Images inside of me
The years will demand to carry on
But I hold on strong

I peer in to the lens
