The Golden Box Of Betina

Once upon a time there was a little cockroach
Her name was Betina
She lived behind a bookshelf
And found a little golden box

Inside the box there was a note
Whoever finds this little box
Deserves a lovely feast
So Betina made a choice

I'll only open up this box
If I can find someone
To share the feast with me
She went out to the balcony singing

Who wants to dine with Betina
With a heart so full of love
It's a little box of happiness
And soon everybody knew

About Betina's golden treasure
The Beetle came in quite a hurry
Talking only business and the land
Mister Beetle, you're too serious

You won't watch the sunset holding my hand
Then the Grasshopper came along
Carrying a little guitar
But he only talked about himself

No, this groom won't get very far
Then came the Library Mouse
Wearing his finest tie
He talked about the Brothers Grimm

And recited poetry nearby
He always had the time to talk
They didn't marry with a noisy party
They made a friendship pact instead

They would drink warm coffee together
On rainy afternoons
And only open up the little box
When they wanted to laugh and smile

And so Betina learned
That the feast of life
Is not made of expensive things
And that the mystery of the little box

Is made of rare and precious thing
