I Hate This World Sometimes

The doctor when, I swear, I was born, he said "Sweet Jesus what an ugly child"
He got a square head, he got a fat lip
I bet he's gonna grow to hate this world sometimes

This is a vicious place, so I teach my kids, "You see trouble, come in, run and hide"
It's such a sad world, it's one lost paradise
It kinda wears you out, I hate this world sometimes

How come the sky is green?
How come the sun is orange?
How come the water tastes like turpentine?
How much you're asking for a ticket out of here?
That's way more than I've got, I hate this world sometimes

The holy ghost came and paid a little visit
All the cynics there were so unkind
They were throwing stones, they were carrying hatchets
They were out for blood, I hate this world sometimes

This place is full of pain filled memories
I can't shake 'em, man I'm tired of trying
I'm going to lie down beneath the willow tree
Trying to think of something sweet, I hate this world sometimes
