El libro de las generaciones de Jesucristo, hijo de David, hijo de Abraham.The book of the generations of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
El hijo de Abraham fue Isaac; y el hijo de Isaac fue Jacob; y los hijos de Jacob fueron Judá y sus hermanos;2 The son of Abraham was Isaac; and the son of Isaac was Jacob; and the sons of Jacob were Judah and his brothers;
Y los hijos de Judá fueron Fares y Zara de Tamar; y el hijo de Fares fue Esrom; y el hijo de Esrom fue Ram;3 And the sons of Judah were Perez and Zerah by Tamar; and the son of Perez was Hezron; and the son of Hezron was Ram;
Y el hijo de Ram fue Aminadab; y el hijo de Aminadab fue Naasón; y el hijo de Naasón fue Salmón;4 And the son of Ram was Amminadab; and the son of Amminadab was Nahshon; and the son of Nahshon was Salmon;
Y el hijo de Salmón de Rahab fue Booz; y el hijo de Booz de Rut fue Obed; y el hijo de Obed fue Isaí;5 And the son of Salmon by Rahab was Boaz; and the son of Boaz by Ruth was Obed; and the son of Obed was Jesse;
Y el hijo de Isaí fue David el rey; y el hijo de David fue Salomón de la que había sido mujer de Urías;6 And the son of Jesse was David the king; and the son of David was Solomon by her who had been the wife of Uriah;

Y el hijo de Asa fue Josafat; y el hijo de Josafat fue Joram; y el hijo de Joram fue Uzías;8 And the son of Asa was Jehoshaphat; and the son of Jehoshaphat was Joram; and the son of Joram was Uzziah;
Y el hijo de Uzías fue Jotam; y el hijo de Jotam fue Acaz; y el hijo de Acaz fue Ezequías;9 And the son of Uzziah was Jotham; and the son of Jotham was Ahaz; and the son of Ahaz was Hezekiah;
Y el hijo de Ezequías fue Manasés; y el hijo de Manasés fue Amón; y el hijo de Amón fue Josías;10 And the son of Hezekiah was Manasseh; and the son of Manasseh was Amon; and the son of Amon was Josiah;
Y los hijos de Josías fueron Jeconías y sus hermanos, en el tiempo del destierro a Babilonia;11 And the sons of Josiah were Jechoniah and his brothers, at the time of the taking away to Babylon.
Y después del destierro a Babilonia, Jeconías tuvo un hijo llamado Salatiel; y Salatiel tuvo a Zorobabel;12 And after the taking away to Babylon, Jechoniah had a son Shealtiel; and Shealtiel had Zerubbabel;
Y Zorobabel tuvo a Abiud; y Abiud tuvo a Eliaquim; y Eliaquim tuvo a Azor;13 And Zerubbabel had Abiud; and Abiud had Eliakim; and Eliakim had Azor;
Y Azor tuvo a Sadoc; y Sadoc tuvo a Aquim; y Aquim tuvo a Eliud;14 And Azor had Zadok; and Zadok had Achim; and Achim had Eliud;
Y Eliud tuvo a Eleazar; y Eleazar tuvo a Matán; y Matán tuvo a Jacob;15 And Eliud had Eleazar; and Eleazar had Matthan; and Matthan had Jacob;
Y el hijo de Jacob fue José, esposo de María, de la cual nació Jesús, llamado Cristo;16 And the son of Jacob was Joseph the husband of Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, whose name is Christ.
Así que todas las generaciones desde Abraham hasta David son catorce generaciones; y desde David hasta el destierro a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; y desde el destierro a Babilonia hasta la venida de Cristo, catorce generaciones;17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David to the taking away to Babylon, fourteen generations; and from the taking away to Babylon to the coming of Christ, fourteen generations.
El nacimiento de Jesucristo fue de esta manera: cuando su madre María iba a casarse con José, antes de vivir juntos se descubrió que estaba encinta por obra del Espíritu Santo;18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was in this way: when his mother Mary was going to be married to Joseph, before they came together the discovery was made that she was with child by the Holy Spirit.
Entonces José, su esposo, siendo un hombre justo y no queriendo denunciarla públicamente, decidió dejarla en secreto;19 And Joseph, her husband, being an upright man, and not desiring to make her a public example, had a mind to put her away privately.
Pero mientras pensaba en esto, un ángel del Señor se le apareció en sueños y le dijo: José, hijo de David, no temas recibir a María como tu esposa, porque lo que ha sido concebido en ella es del Espíritu Santo;20 But when he was giving thought to these things, an angel of the Lord came to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, have no fear of taking Mary as your wife; because that which is in her body is of the Holy Spirit.
Y ella dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados;21 And she will give birth to a son; and you will give him the name Jesus; for he will give his people salvation from their sins.
Todo esto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo dicho por el Señor por medio del profeta:22 Now all this took place so that the word of the Lord by the prophet might come true,
He aquí, la virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrán por nombre Emanuel, que traducido significa: Dios con nosotros;23 See, the virgin will be with child, and will give birth to a son, and they will give him the name Immanuel, that is, God with us.
Y José, obedeciendo al ángel del Señor, tomó a María como su esposa;24 And Joseph did as the angel of the Lord had said to him, and took her as his wife;
Y no tuvo relaciones con ella hasta que dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Jesús.25 And he had no connection with her till she had given birth to a son; and he gave him the name Jesus.
