A perfect blue sky above, perfectly manicured lawns
People are stirring as the new day dawns

The bells on the church ring a peel of perfection each day
The dutiful brethren all line up to pray

The local reporter reports, on the news of the day
Nothing has happened, there’s nothing to say

The model policeman stands guard in his uniform blue
Day after day he has nothing to do

The rules are there to guide you
And constantly remind you

Virtuous and mindless
Obedient and silent
They are told what to do
What to think

The friendly shopkeeper, keeps his cards close to his chest
