A Perilous Journey

I roam the earth on alchemy's trail
Never far behind, yet it escapes me
I long for a sign of my journey's end
In curious desperation I tread on

The beasts feed my hunger
Another rain will quench the thirst
The horned Moon it guides me
Through unrelenting woods
I fear no solitude
My fury serves me
Onward and down
To valleys unknown

Laid upon the fur and soil
Rest but sleep not
For I am but mortal

A curse as old as time
Tempting from beyond
Close thy weary eyes
And let the vessel rot

That which I have desired for as long as I have bled
Has torn my withered souls and made my earthen bed
