Lighthouse in the Dark

Back in school, they made me learn
I was only what they told me I should be
Reason, they said, was the lighthouse in the dark
Duty would always light the way
Be practical, fulfill your duty, they would say
But they never taught me how to live

Then I grew up and tried to understand
The world no one could ever truly see
The stars revealed no law for me to find
Only the courtroom of my restless mind
Now I'm imprisoned by what I cannot judge
If everything slips away, what is left to love?

Is it intuition? Is it pure? Or just illusion?
Who commands the laws inside my heart?
I search for truth, but no one reads these lines
At the end of the day What did I really find?
