When the crop became me
Standing to attention
All the hair on my skin
Goosebumped
With the wind
Washing over
And I realised our connection
How every seed and I
Share at the moment of conception
The will of time
To express itself
A levied request
A vote from another
That sometimes
The hope outweighs the death

And what's hard to get my head around
Is not that it's my mother
But that mother on her most human of days
Was two mothers at once
And my mother is the one
Who ultimately
Infinitely wont stay

What's funny is that later on when you asked me why I'm crying
All I could say was I love my mum
You laughed and said: Oh, baby
And took pleasure in reminding me
That like a russian doll
Scientific findings show every daughter
Even in the womb
Has all the eggs she ever will
So like my mother
In her mother
With the will of mother in her
And I nestled both inside
The will of mother is in me
God knows
If I'll ever sew my time
