Fifty scared boys many nests in our way
Me and my friends, yea we'll die there that day
Fickle winds sway the grass here where I lie
My guts in my hands and my gaze towards the sky

I was a child and she was my queen
There was summer sweat, fireflies
Her lips in my teeth
Fireworks hand in hand kept me asleep
I traced all her hairlines to my memory

Take me home to her arms
Flush out the blood of war left in my bones
Bury me in our yard
Show them the cost of land so very far

Back on the battlefield, hope don't exist
We become men but none left innocent
I watch as exploding shells rip apart limb
Oh none of our mothers should know where we've been

Rotting away, decomposed in our yard
