I Will Stand

I stand before the refuge gate
The only thing between their fate
Through endless steel and pain
I stand for those who have no name
My sword is heavy in my hand
I've held this ground, I've made my stand
But still they come from every side
There's nowhere left for us to hide

I see them running through the night
One woman with a sword to fight

But I will stand, I will not fall
I am the refuge's final wall
Though armies come and darkness grows
I will stand against the foes
Let them come with all their might
I will stand and hold the fight
Until my final breath is drawn
I will stand until the dawn

I hear the children cry inside
The mothers praying that we'll survive
My arms are tired, my legs are weak
But I can't let them hear me speak
Of doubt or fear or growing pain
Of blood that's running like the rain
They cut me down but still I rise
The fire burning in my eyes

I don't know how much more I have
But I will hold this bloody path

So I will stand, I will not break
I am the choice that I must make
Though enemies pour through the gate
I will stand and meet my fate
Let them strike with all their force

Until my heart has ceased to beat

How many more will come tonight?
How long can I sustain this fight?
My vision blurs, my sword feels cold

I see no end to their attack

My body breaks but not my will
