The Swamps

Mist caresses these waters like a veil when the moon rises
We hear them come closer lock all doors
Safety is just an illusion hide your children, although it won't matter
Because when we go to sleep they awake a dark cloth embraces these lands

And in the midst of towering mountains we find a small village
This once was a peaceful place, but things have all changed now
Few people still live here and the whispering still grows
That their master has gone mad and strange things happen in his mansion

Then the eyes appear
The master doesn't sleep because he sees
Here they come the creatures of the swamps
See, the water is stirring
Be afraid of the creatures of the swamps
Hear, their teeth are grinding

Nobody believes him when he babbles about the creatures in the swamps
They think he's delirious he's fighting a lonely battle
Trying to protect his people he now can only shake his head in grief
He tried to warn, but it's too late

Then the eyes appear
The master doesn't sleep because he sees

Listen I can hear something moving through the water
Don't sleep now, try to hide
The cracks of a door that 's being forced
Wet limbs sliding on the floor
Don't breathe listen here they come!
