After It Ends

Sometimes it all ends in the blink of an eye
In a single heartbeat, in one last sigh
Something beautiful turns into dust
And all that remains is silence and rust
No tears falling down
No pain screaming loud
Just an emptiness so deep
It swallowed every sound

And it felt strange
Like my soul forgot how to break

When everything dies all at once
The whole world loses color somehow
Even the ocean smelled different
And the sky didn't feel the same now
So I sat there staring above
Trying to feel something again
And even with the emptiness inside me
Life slowly found its colors in the end

The waves still crashed against the shore
But they didn't sound like before
The wind touched my skin the same old way
But somehow the warmth had faded away
I walked alone through the silence inside
Like a ghost learning how to survive
And every breath felt cold and thin
Like I was alive, but missing within

Maybe some endings don't come with pain
Maybe they just leave a different kind of rain
